Today was really devastating, Connor’s kitten Link (named after Encino Man) passed away. She went from being a rambunctious kitten full of beans to extremely lethargic in a blink of an eye. She did not have a great start at life, we got her from a precarious situation, and much much too young. She had possible heart issues from the start, and the vet didn’t think she was even going to survive as a wee kitten, but after a round of antibiotics she pulled through and then she thrived, but she always breathed funny.

We brought in the kittens to help the kids go through a rough time, we had lost one of our older cats, and the kids greatly missed her. Connor needed a friend and my dad was doing rounds of chemo, so we thought a kitten would be great for him to cuddle.

I have never lost a cat that was young, she wasn’t even a year old. In the short 9 months she was in our lives we received nothing but love and she brought us tons of laughter. We will miss all your shoulder rides Linkavitch Chomofsky!

Thank you to Dr. Saeid Arefi at the PoCo West Animal Hospital, who was nothing but empathetic and compassionate during her last moments of life. I know this part of your job, is never easy.
